About Us

Bulgarian Railway Company EAD (BRC) is the first Bulgarian private railway company licensed for performing freight transport. The company was established in year 2004 with private owned share capital and holds national license number 201 issued by the Ministry of transport and communications.

Today BRC is sole owned by Romanian private railway operator Grup Feroviar Roman SA (GFR). The company is a part of GRAMPET GROUP, the biggest private railway holding in South East Europe. GRAMPET GROUP is formed by 18 companies grouped on activity domains: operators of rail transport involving cargo, logistic, construction, repairs and maintenance of rolling stock and IT services.

At present BRC is a member of:

• International Union of Railways (UIC)
• The international Rail Transport Committee (CIT)
• Forum Train Europe (FTE)
• as well and signatory of General Contract of Use for Wagons (GCU)

The company main goals are to pursuit leadership in railway service in the country, to develop new logistic opportunities linking together all modes of transport and building comprehensive logistic chains.
